MUMBAI: EbixCash Tours & Travels has emerged as the largest travel and foreign exchange player during the on-going Indian Premier League (IPL), courtesy its partnership deals with five out of the eight teams.
EbixCash is a fully owned subsidiary of Ebix Inc., an international supplier of on-demand software and e-commerce services to the insurance, financial, healthcare and e-learning industries.
As part of its arrangement, the company is handling chartered flights for all the five franchises, foreign exchange needs of four of the teams, over 19,000 hotel room night bookings for four franchises, ground transportation for two franchises and event insurance coverage for one team.
“We are honoured to have been chosen as the vendor of choice by the majority of the IPL franchises,” said Naveen Kundu, managing director, EbixCash Tours & Travels. “Their decision was made easier with EbixCash emerging as the only end-to-end services provider who could handle their varied needs under one window.”
According to Kundu, the company’s depth of products and services, international expanse, travel expertise and past record played an instrumental role in getting selected for this engagement.
Robin Raina, chairman of the Board, president & CEO, Ebix, said, “In Covid-19 times, when most travel providers are struggling, we have managed to secure this prestigious win. I congratulate Naveen and his team for this engagement. I am especially pleased that Naveen has started his taking over as MD of EbixCash Tours and Travels on this strong note.”
